Quote of the Week: Hope

“Hope is the thing with feathers,
That perches on the soul
And sings the tune with the words,
And never stops at all.”

Turkey on Turkey Day

I intended to post yesterday, on Thanksgiving, but obviously that didn't happen. I hope all of you had a good Thanksgiving. We all have so much to be thankful for, don't we?!?

Although I did make it to my parents' house, I spent almost the entire time I was there in the bed in my old room sick with the flu that Noah so lovingly shared. There's something about being at your childhood house when you are sick that just automatically makes you feel a little better I think. I had a pretty rough day yesterday but am feeling a tad better this morning.

There is one more thing to be thankful for that I'm adding to my pile of things that I'm already thankful for that I must share...... (Drum roll please!)

Noah ate TURKEY on THANKSGIVING for the FIRST TIME EVER!
(Yes, it was in the form of a sandwich, but who cares!)

BFF's Wedding

Over the weekend, my BFF got married. I was her Maid of Honor. I'd never been a MOH before and really enjoyed it although I don't I want to be a MOH again! Lani's wedding was beautiful and there are so many moments that I hope remain etched into my mind for years and years to come.

Below are a few of my favorite pictures from the wedding......

The only bad thing about being in a wedding (for me personally) is not being able to take pics. I tried but it's really not feasible to be the MOH and take photos when you are supposed to be in them! I did get a few good shots in before the wedding. This is my favorite - classic bride.

Wordless Wednesday: Sleeping with a Picture

My sweet boy fell asleep while looking at a picture of him and his Granddad playing baseball. I bet he's dreaming of baseball!

Somehow I ended up on Cafe Press browsing t-shirts. I found many that I love for a variety of different reasons. Let me share a few with you....

BFF's Bridal Shower

This past weekend I traveled to my BFF's in the Atlanta area to host (along with the other bridesmaids) her bridal shower. We chose a fall theme for the bridal shower and I had a great time planning all the decorations, centerpieces, and what not. I think that everything turned out very nice and Lani loved it all. And of course, I have pictures to share!

The centerpieces were (fake) pumpkins filled with (fake) flowers. They were sitting on a some scattered leaves and each pumpkin had a framed engagement picture of Lani and Clinton sitting next to it with a tea light candle on either side of it.

Beautiful Cake

Bride to Be with the Cake

I love to watch Lani open gifts. She gets excited and animated. She makes each person feel like their gift was the best gift ever. You could give the girl a pencil and she'd make you feel like you just gave her a diamond ring or something.

Me and my BFF or "the sister God let me choose" as Lani so eloquently says it.

Wordless Wednesday: Noah and the Giant Dino

Noah received this GIANT dinosaur as a birthday gift.
(Thank you Mary!)
The other night he was in a great mood and playing with it before bedtime and I snapped these photos..............

Birthday Pictures - Finally!

I know, I have been so slow doing a birthday recap but we've just had so much going on lately! So, Noah's 13th birthday party while very small (on purpose - too many people = sensory overload) was fun for him and all involved. My Mom commented on what a good host he was as he had to make sure that everyone had food and drinks. The only sad part was Uncle Andy and his dog-son Hansel were unable to attend because Andy was stuck in VA for work. While Noah barely ate any of the (cookie) cake he did enjoy the blowing out of the candles and for the first time actually blew out one of the candles himself!

Ok, on to the pictures............

I love this one - I call it "Where's Noah?"

What's in here?

Look, a dinosaur!

Moving on to the cake shots.....

Quote of the Week: Autumn Mosaic

"Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all."
- Stanley Horowitz

I love trees in the fall! Aren't those trees just gorgeous! I took that picture at a lake/park near our house last week.
